Wildwood Ballet offers classes in two divisions.
Lower Division classes are designed for students ages 3 to 7 years old.
Upper Division classes are designed for students ages 8 to adults.
Lower Division
Ages 3-7
Ballet
[Age 3-7s]
In these classes, students explore ballet terminology and movement through imaginative and playful activities, all within a structured classroom environment. The focus is on fostering creativity, developing coordination, and building a strong foundation in ballet technique, while maintaining a fun and engaging atmosphere that nurtures a love for dance.
Jazz/Tap
[Age 4-7]
This combo class introduces students to the fundamentals of both jazz and tap in a fun, engaging way. Students will learn basic movements, proper technique, and the essential warm-ups for each style. This class helps build coordination, rhythm, and musicality while fostering a love for dance in a supportive and creative environment.
Tumbling
[Age 3-7]
In this tumbling class, students learn fundamental moves such as rolls, jumps, and beam walks. The focus is on developing coordination, balance, and strength while improving gross motor skills. Through fun and dynamic activities, students build confidence in their movement and physical abilities in a supportive and engaging environment.
Students will not participate in recital.
Upper Division

Ballet
Level 1 - 4

These classes provide students with the opportunity to learn and refine classical ballet technique while cultivating musicality, coordination, creativity, and discipline. Through structured training, students develop a strong foundation in ballet, progressing at their own pace.
We offer ballet classes in Levels 1-4, tailored to each student's skill set. Typically, students spend 2-3 years in each level to ensure they acquire the necessary foundational skills before advancing to the next level. Our approach emphasizes both technical proficiency and artistic growth, setting dancers up for success as they progress through their ballet journey.
Pointe
Level 3 & 4
[Ages 14 - adult]
These classes focus on developing strength, proper alignment, and advanced ballet technique while dancing en pointe. Students must have a solid classical ballet foundation and be evaluated to assess their readiness before advancing to pointe. Emphasis is placed on building the necessary strength and stability to safely and effectively perform pointe work, ensuring that each dancer is physically prepared for this challenging yet rewarding stage of their ballet training.
Contemporary
Level 1 - 4

These classes blend elements from various dance styles, including ballet, modern, and jazz, creating a dynamic and expressive form of movement. Students will explore floor technique, engaging combinations, and musicality, allowing them to develop both technical skills and emotional expression. It is recommended that students have several years of experience in ballet, jazz, and modern before taking contemporary classes, as these foundational styles provide the necessary strength, flexibility, and understanding to fully benefit from the contemporary curriculum.
Jazz
Level 1 - 4

Students will build a strong foundation through consistent strength and flexibility training while honing essential skills such as turns, jumps, and leaps. Each class encourages creativity and confidence, helping dancers grow both technically and expressively.
Tap
Level 1 - 4

These classes focus on classical tap technique, helping students build musicality and rhythm through precise footwork and dynamic movement. Students will master foundational skills while developing their personal style and artistry in a fun, engaging, and supportive environment. The class pace encourages growth in both technical ability and creative expression, making tap a lively and exciting experience.
