Lauren Kelly (Thomasville, GA) is a graduate from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) with a BFA in Choreography and Performance with a K – 12 Teaching Licensure. She began her dance training at the age of twelve with South Georgia Ballet. While attending UNCG, Lauren was awarded the opportunity to study and perform in Corciano, Italy and Perth, Australia. In Italy, she was able to collaborate and perform alongside renowned opera singer Elisa Bovi and flutist Andrea Ceccomori in a work titled “Omphalos,” which premiered in the Corciano Arts Festival. In Australia, she studied at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), where she was introduced to aerial silks and performed in a work called, “Together, Together” by Ori Flomin. Proceeding graduation, Lauren was given the opportunity to be a choreographic assistant to choreographer Duane Cyrus. She assisted in the creation and setting of a work titled “Colony of Desire,” on Charlotte Ballet’s Company I dancers, which premiered in Charlotte Ballet’s 2020 production of Innovative Works. She is excited about teaching at Wildwood Ballet this year!
